Utilizing the Six Steps to Self Healing for Cancer Care

An important part of the work I do is the Six Steps to Self Healing program, started by Dr. Lissa Rankin. This program taps into the body’s intuition to remove the obstacles to healing that naturally occur in our lives. I’ve seen this revolutionary approach change lives and perform miracles, which is why it’s so important to me to be able to offer it to my patients.

Can the Body Heal Itself?

In her groundbreaking TED talk, Dr. Rankin examines a common medical phenomenon: the placebo effect. Although this is often thought to be an impediment to clean scientific studies, the placebo effect has real physiological effects, and shows us that merely believing in the potential of healing can lead to healing itself. Together with well-documented proof of spontaneous remission from chronic diseases, this effect proves that even when there is no specific medical treatment taking place, the body has the mechanisms to heal. The question is… how do we access that power?

My Role as a Healer

As explained in the video above, key to the self-healing process is the guidance and empowerment of a healer. Dr. Rankin explains that healing oneself isn’t just dictated by the mind and body, but also enabled through relationships and support.

To me, healing is more than a job or a certification. It’s a calling. That’s why I have tirelessly worked and reflected over these years to better guide healing for my patients, outside of the normal conventions of medicine.

In order to become a Trained Health Care Provider with the Whole Health Medicine Institute, I underwent a focused 4 month training program, which reinforced the principles of spiritual healing and utilized the Whole Health Cairn as a tool to uncover the root causes of disease. Harnessing the power of this training, I can help patients to problem-solve in their own lives and access their body’s intuition to write their own prescription for healing.

Accessing Your Body’s Healing Power

STEP ONE: Surrender Attachment to Outcomes

Healed means to make whole. You can be cured without being healed, and you can be healed without being cured. In this step, you embrace there are no guarantees, and that the journey is a path to wholeness.

STEP TWO: Believe You Can Heal Yourself

The mind has the power to heal the body. What if changing your mind could alter your mind while simultaneously altering your body’s physiology? This step is about opening your mind, shifting your beliefs, and changing your physiology as a result.

STEP THREE: Find the Right Support

In this step, you will optimize whatever potential cures physicians and modern medicine have to offer as an adjunct to healing your mind. When embarking on a healing journey, it takes a village. Find the right team of people including a therapist, coach, or someone else to sit at your healing round table.

STEP FOUR: Listen to Your Body and Intuition

There is a wise healer that lies within you, is your best friend and always knows exactly what your body needs. Make this relationship a priority and get back in touch and stay connected to this force within you.

STEP FIVE: Diagnose the Root Cause to Your Illness

Gain insight into how your body may be suffering as the result of your mind triggering the stress response in the body. In this step, dig deep using the Whole Health Cairn tool (pictured below) to diagnose the root cause of what is triggering the stress response, initiate natural relaxation, and mitigate current symptoms or prevent future illness.
